A partir de mi-mai 2017, le CHEM pourra accueillir sept étudiants en médecine. Cette formation pratique au lit des patients se fait lors de la sixième d’année des études de médecine dans deux spécialités obligatoires, la chirurgie et la médecine interne, ainsi que dans une spécialité optionnelle. Elle permet aux étudiants de mettre en pratique les connaissances et les compétences acquises pendant leurs études dans le cadre de différentes pathologies et de se préparer à exercer leur futur métier en toute autonomie. Das CHEM ist akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus des Universitätsklinikums des Saarlandes
Ab dem kommenden Wintersemester stellt das CHEM sieben Ausbildungsplätze für die praktische Ausbildung zur Verfügung. Als sechstes Studienjahr für angehende Ärztinnen und Ärzte beinhaltet das Praktische Jahr die Ausbildung am Patienten in den beiden Pflichtfächern Chirurgie und Innere Medizin sowie in einem Wahlfach. Dabei lernen die Studierenden, zuvor gründlich erworbene Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen auf einzelne Pathologien anzuwenden, und werden ganzheitlich auf ihre spätere eigenverantwortliche Tätigkeit vorbereitet.
